Exploded Snapshot Modern warfare increasingly relies on simulations, where complex technological systems enhance control and operational efficiency. In this context, computer simulations not only support intelligence but often serve as documentation, shaping narratives around real or anticipated actions. For example, methods used to locate underground tunnels rely on speculative data and partial information, potentially justifying actions with significant humanitarian impacts. To explore these issues, we developed a video game that simulates intelligence data, highlighting how such simulations blur the line between fact and visualized fiction. Exposition and  Awards

Exploded Snapshot How is objective truth conveyed through images?

Despite their inherent subjectivity, images—whether photographs, videos, or simulations—are often seen as authentic representations of reality, especially within fields like science. A virtual archive has been created to examine this perception, using a socio-political conflict documented through both real and game-engine-produced images. Users can freely navigate and interpret these images, categorized by technique, authorship, dissemination, and perceived authenticity. By including fabricated images, the archive challenges viewers to consider whether authenticity or contextual impact is more important in shaping our understanding

Poor Things Poor Things is an ongoing project that explores the possibilities of using a video game environment as an alternative narrative tool. The project comprises a virtual world populated by various non-playable characters (NPCs) that interact with each other in a dynamic and autonomous manner. These NPCs are born, live, interact, and eventually die, and their life satisfaction and fulfillment  is affected by their interactions with each other and other random factors. These interactions also affect the AI-generated dialogues between the NPCs and an eventual playable character.  These dialogues revolve around everyday life issues, both happy and sad, providing a unique and thought-provoking narrative experience. Overall, the project aims to push the boundaries of traditional storytelling methods and use the medium of video games as a form of narrative expression. Exposition and  Awards

Life and Death of Hans Maximilian

LIFE AND DEATH OF HANS MAXIMILIAN is a modern interpretation of the famous Tamagotchi game (a handheld digital pet simulation toy, 1996). The project is based on Chomsky’s grammar hierarchy theory and Panini’s Sanskrit grammar documentation “Aṣṭādhyāyī”. The game is based on a language model within the Tamagotchi context, based on opposing normative concepts: void/fullness, up/down, material/soul, noun/verb/adjective, in order to construct a normative form of communication. The generated word meanings are classified in a node tree, forming “meaning classes” which then build 3-word sentences. The user is required to read and understand the needs of Generative Tamagotchi, which are communicated in normative phrases and body language, and then respond to them by typing a suitable response with a controller within a specific time frame.

Dear Piotre is no more. He was a fullness: now he's a vacuum. Killing my heart, he went away and I won't see him anymore as he exactly was. I am left with his words, his powerful visions of a later world, the aching words of a diary written as he was approaching the very limits of sanity, where he described many horrifying landscapes; he found himself surrounded by them every time he managed to wake up, alone and as helpless as a one could be.

The exhibition uses traditional mediums such as pseudo-romantic landscape painting, contextualizing them through a false narration, creating a particular atmosphere that subsumes the works and the viewer.

The Idea is to use narrative to give to the exhibition a different context to the usual contemporary art one, to improve the emotional and immersive impact of the work, even though romantic landscapes paintings might feel like an obsolete medium.
